Local Government Webnetwork We Believe In Community 2011 conference
Cheryl Foong, 15 July 2011
Professor Anne Fitzgerald and Neale Hooper will be speaking at the Local Government Webnetwork We Believe In Community conference at 1.30pm, Thursday 18 August at Room 2 of the Menzies Hotel.
Their presentation will cover the application of copyright to government material, and consider how open content licences - specifically, Creative Commons (CC) licences - can be used by governments as a simple and effective mechanism to support the reuse of their copyright-protected PSI. Professor Fitzgerald and Mr Hooper will also canvass practical examples of how this has been done, and briefly consider the operation of the Government Information Public Access (GIPA) Act in conjunction with open access policies and practices.
The presentation slides are available here, and the full conference program is available here.
