New book Access to Public Sector Information: Law, Technology and Policy launched
Access to Public Sector Information: Law, Technology and Policy, edited by Professor Brian Fitzgerald (QUT) was launched on 5 July 2010.
The two-volume book, published by University of Sydney Press, contains explanations and analysis of the global shift in the way public sector information is managed and is an invaluable resource. It is a collection of papers, reports and submission on the topic by leading authors and provides anyone whose job it is to map out and implement information policy with the reference material and practical guidance they need to complete the task.
It was launched by a panel of speakers including Senator Kate Lundy, communications technology minister Robert Schwarten; National Innovation System chair Dr Terry Cutler and chair of the Federal Government's 2.0 Taskforce Dr Nicholas Gruen at The Edge, State Library of Queensland. Photos of the event are available on flickr.
Volume one of Access to Public Sector Information: Law, Technology & Policy draws together papers by policymakers, academics and practitioners, while volume two contains a selection of the key reports and submissions that have been published over the last few years.
