Launch of NZGOAL.info
27 June 2011
Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand (CCANZ) in collaboration with New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs have recently launched nzgoal.info.
New Zealand Government Open Access and Licensing framework (NZGOAL) was approved by Cabinet on 5 July 2010 as government guidance for State Services agencies to follow when releasing copyright works and non-copyright material for re-use by third parties. NZGOAL.info provides quick and punchy guides on NZGOAL for both agencies and end users, answers common questions, provides updates and news on NZGOAL and, perhaps most significantly, enables agencies to undertake the NZGOAL review and release process online.
It is hoped that the site will make the review and release process easier and faster for agencies, thereby encouraging greater uptake of NZGOAL and accelerating the release and licensing of useful material (datasets and otherwise) for re-use, including for the forthcoming Mix and Mash competition.
