Open Access to Public Sector and Geospatial Information: An Update on European and Australian Initiatives
On 26 September 2008, the CRC for Spatial Information (CRC-SI) and the Open Access to Knowledge (OAK) Law Project hosted a free public seminar, “Open Access to Public Sector and Geospatial Information: An Update on European and Australian Initiatives”.
This seminar was held in conjunction with the Open Access and Research (OAR) conference hosted by the OAK Law Project and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Faculty of Law, which ran from 24 – 26 September 2008 in Brisbane, Australia.
The seminar was convened by Professor Anne Fitzgerald and featured special guest Frederika Welle Donker, a researcher at the OTB Research Institute for Housing, Urban and Mobility Studies, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
Frederika’s research focus is geo-portals and the accessibility of geo information, including legal aspects of accessibility and economic aspects such as pricing models. At the seminar, Frederika gave a presentation on “Public Sector Information Access Policies in Europe”.
